We are looking for a qualified EMC engineer on a contract or permanent basis.

Would you like to be involved with setting up an EMC OATS test lab from the ground up? Are you looking for a beautiful and very affordable place to live whilst expanding your career in the EMC testing business?

Island Labs intends to offer Vancouver and Vancouver Island’s engineering community with a local and cost competitive option for their EMC testing and certification needs.

You will ideally have:
-    5-10 years minimum experience as an EMC lab technician or engineer, ideally in an ISO17025 accredited facility.
-    B.Eng or B.Sc in electrical, electronics, computer or RF engineering preferred. Technician qualifications considered.
-    Experience with FCC, IEC and ETSI standards
-    Experience with the ISO 17025 processes
-    Strong familiarity with test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope power meters, signal generators, etc.
-    Experience in troubleshooting failing devices
-    INARTE certification a plus

Tasks will include:
-    Assist in the design and site attenuation verification of an OATS
-    Preparing test plans and processes
-    Perform tests according to set schedules
-    Assist clients in resolving issues
-    Assist in the ISO 17025 accreditation process
-    Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the lab
