Andy
Andy is the owner of Island Labs and the main point of contact for customers. He has 10 years experience in electronic hardware design, covering product design, development and compliance in many industries including consumer, scientific, medical, and military. His broad training includes PCB design for RF applications, practical RF and microwave design at the University of Oxford and plenty of hands on experience with regulatory approvals as well as PCB design and debug for EMC compliance.




Brad Kosience (P.Eng, B. Eng)

RF Consultant

Brad has 20+ years solid experience in product design and development. His career has spanned many industries including wireless, consumer and industrial and has much experience in designing and debugging products for EMC compliance. Brad has worked on high power RF receiver and transmistter design as well as wireless sensor and network design. As an integral part of the design cycle, he has worked extensively on IEC, CSA, FCC and UL regulatory and compliance issues. He also has experience as an ISO quality auditor.


Kevin Caldwell (P. Eng,  B.A.Sc.)

Test Engineer 

With nearly 3 decades in engineering, Kevin has undertaken many roles including Senior Engineer, Technical Manager and Project Engineer. He has overseen design teams on diverse projects and established processes to run a $5m+ revenue per year contract engineering group. Kevin has extensive experience with environmental and EMC design and testing, including planning, scheduling, execution and problem solving. His EMC test education includes Henry Ott's EMC seminar, Bell Core testing training and Nortel's product integrity testing. Kevin has been involved with EMC testing at BNR's open air test site in Ottawa, an OATS near Salt Lake City and Nortel's (now NTS) anechoic chamber in Calgary. Kevin has 3 joint patents to his name.
